I recently designed some business cards for a client and I was sick of using my local print shop. They try to nickle and dime me every time I used them and I eventually got fed up. I went with an online print shop known as MOO. I had used them a couple years ago for my own personal business cards but at that time there wasn’t a lot of options. Now things are a lot different. Printing cards has never been easier. The cards are printed with a digital printer so images are crisp and clear. They’re not as cheap as business cards printed with short-run printing, but often the quality from the short-run jobs is lacking. When I worked at a print shop I was constantly having to adjust colors to get them to look right for a short-run job. My cards from MOO look great. I’ll post some images of the business cards soon.

Tampa Bay Bar Scene is up and running!
Posted in: Blog

So I’ve been very busy working on a pet project called Tampa Bay Bar Scene. It’s a compilation of information for over 500 bars in Tampa and surrounding areas. It has information about their Happy Hours, Specials, location, drink list and various other things related to the specific bar. It’s designed to be a one-stop-shop in regards to drinking in the Tampa Bay area. Looking for a hospitality night somewhere but are sick of the usual spots. Check out Tampa Bay Bar Scene.

WordPress Cheat Sheet Round-Up
Posted in: Blog
While designing themes for WordPress I realized I’m extremely forgetful. I was going to create a cheat sheet for myself then I thought, “I bet there are already some out there on the world wide web.” Here’s a collection of a few useful WordPress cheat sheets that I use. There a lot more out there but I find these cheat sheets to be my favorites.

Live Hands Golf website

Here’s a recent website done using WordPress as a CMS. The client Tom Shea has a lot of content so we utilize drop down menu’s to control the information architecture of the website. This was a challenging website since many of the pages look different, which required many different template files. Another challenge was the size restrictions. I’m used to designing relatively fluid websites and to reacquaint myself to overflow attributes. I was able to keep the website looking almost exactly like the PSD file given to me so we were able to avoid making any major changes to the site since it was all pre-approved. -

New Lema-Solar website

Another web design rush job was given to me recently. Pretty simple site utilizing WordPress as a CMS. The site design didn’t purpose any challenges so I was able to get online within hours of receiving the PSD file. Once online the client made a lot of changes that required some major changes to the size of the site, and reformatting. To be completely honest I think the original site design is a step up from the finished product but unfortunately I don’t get to make the final decisions. The client is very pleased with the website and that is what really matters. Check out the website! >>
