I recently designed some business cards for a client and I was sick of using my local print shop. They try to nickle and dime me every time I used them and I eventually got fed up. I went with an online print shop known as MOO. I had used them a couple years ago for my own personal business cards but at that time there wasn’t a lot of options. Now things are a lot different. Printing cards has never been easier. The cards are printed with a digital printer so images are crisp and clear. They’re not as cheap as business cards printed with short-run printing, but often the quality from the short-run jobs is lacking. When I worked at a print shop I was constantly having to adjust colors to get them to look right for a short-run job. My cards from MOO look great. I’ll post some images of the business cards soon.

So I’ve been very busy working on a pet project called Tampa Bay Bar Scene. It’s a compilation of information for over 500 bars in Tampa and surrounding areas. It has information about their Happy Hours, Specials, location, drink list and various other things related to the specific bar. It’s designed to be a one-stop-shop in regards to drinking in the Tampa Bay area. Looking for a hospitality night somewhere but are sick of the usual spots. Check out Tampa Bay Bar Scene.

While designing themes for WordPress I realized I’m extremely forgetful. I was going to create a cheat sheet for myself then I thought, “I bet there are already some out there on the world wide web.” Here’s a collection of a few useful WordPress cheat sheets that I use. There a lot more out there but I find these cheat sheets to be my favorites.

I’ve been super busy lately working on various freelance projects. If it keeps up at the current pace I’ll be quitting my serving job and working full-time as a freelance web designer. Woot! I’m currently working on a few tutorials for this site involving WordPress. I’ve been developing some sites recently using WordPress as a CMS and have developed a few things that other people can benefit from. The tutorials will be aimed at people that are just starting to use WordPress as a CMS.

I also have more websites to add to my portfolio! I’ve recently finished a few projects that I’ve been dying to add but just haven’t had time. I plan on adding them tonight.

wordpressI found a useful link from DesignBump with a list of cheat-sheets for WordPress. Some of the cheat-sheets are new to me but others I use and have been an asset for creating my personal blog theme. I’m new to WordPress but it’s not so hard to grasp and with these resources it’s even easier.  One resource that should be included in the list is “Huge Compilation of WordPress Code” from WP Hacks. Very useful with a wealth of information.
